Burnt spread in Gurteen (glanarought By.) is a levelled mound of charred earth on a south-facing slope above the Glashagoruve River in County Kerry. Farmers erased the original shape during reclamation, yet a twelve-metre line of dark soil still marks the field boundary. A stone circle and boulder burial wait one hundred and thirty metres away, suggesting the fire served more than cooking or clearing. The place keeps its heat hidden beneath ordinary pasture, waiting for someone to notice the black edge where the land remembers.

In pasture, on a S-facing slope overlooking the Glashagoruve River to the S. A mound of burnt material was levelled in the course of land reclamation and a horizon (L 12m; T 1.4m) of burnt material is visible at the base of a field boundary. A multiple-stone circle and boulder-burial (KE094-021001-, KE094-021002-) lie c. 130m to the SSE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
