Located towards the head of a slight SW-NE valley. This is an oval area of burnt and cracked stones (dims. 10m x 8m) visible when the area is ploughed. An old stream bed is adjacent and burnt mound (WX040-070002-) is c. 60m to the E. Burnt mound in Longgraigue is a Neolithic ritual or industrial site, dating to approximately 4000–2500 BCE. Its significance lies in providing evidence of early human activity, possibly related to cooking, feasting, or ceremonial practices.
