No visible marker exists for the Turvey burial because the grave is hidden inside an ordinary abandoned quarry. That is why the place still feels incomplete. The dead person may have been forgotten quickly when the land stopped belonging to one household and became useful for gravel, cattle or tax purposes. Remembering the site now requires imagining what was lost before the quarry became a quarry.
