Burial in Monkstown Castlefarm — Report the wrong picture

Monkstown Castlefarm holds a buried chamber where skulls and long bones still touch the trench walls between Fitzgerald Park and Mountown Road Lower. In November 1968, men digging a house foundation broke through that quiet roof and found deaths laid above other deaths. No vessel, weapon, jewelry or marker survived to name them. The castlefarm gave up its dead only when a new house demanded to enter the ground first.

Situated between Fitzgerald Park and Mountown Road Lower. A burial was discovered in November 1968 during the digging of foundation trenches for a dwelling house. Portions of skulls and long bones were visible in the section faces (D 0.30m-0.60m). They were thought to be extended with burials overlying others.
