What is recorded here

Inch More, a small islet off County Clare, holds a burial marked only by a white cross. The islet has no fresh water and little shelter, yet it has served as a quiet place of death and remembrance for centuries. To bury someone there was to give up ownership of the body to the sea and sky. The cross still stands, leaning slightly, watching the water move around the stone.
