What is recorded here

Miltown and Aghadowey both belonged to one townland. One name pointed to the church and the other to the castle, yet the same fields, roads and households continued through both names. That is why the boundary still causes trouble: it is not a guess about two places, but a description of one place whose identity changed before the modern map was drawn.

On N side of road. Natural hollow bounded to S by road and known locally as burial ground for children during the Famine. Densely overgrown; no gravemarkers visible. According to Jones (1902, 235), a burial place of still born children where a 'small door' in wall provided access to burial ground; no ope noted roadside in wall.
