What is recorded here

Inchidaly is an absent address, an empty field where a church and burial ground vanished without a ridge or stone to mark the loss. Cotter's land may have swallowed both, or men may have stripped the place clean, but the absence itself becomes the shape of the story. A church needs a room, a altar, a door and a dead man to believe it in. Nothing visible remains, yet the whole region still turns over that missing room.

Bowman (1934, 215) recorded burial ground and church (14745) in Mr Cotter's land. According to local information, both stood in field to W of Cotter's farmyard but no trace of either now evident.
