In tillage, beside road just N of entrance to Benduff Castle (Castle Salem) (CO134-036001-). Quaker burial ground identified by D-shaped island of untilled land, at E side of field, with large tree at centre; on N side of tree simple rectangular tomb of William Morris; according to local tradition the erection of this tomb so distressed the Quakers that no further burials took place. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992).
