According to the SMR file, 'malt house marked on Downe Survey map'. There is no malt house indicated on the Hibernia Regnum version of the Down Survey, Trinity College Dublin and no terrier included. However, a malt house may be mentioned in the terrier of another version. There is a house (KK021-034----) indicated in this townland on the Down Survey (1655-6) barony map of Gowran (Hibernia Regnum, courtesy of Trinity College Dublin). The precise location of this building within the townland is unknown. There was a 17th-century malt house (KK020-060022-) in Gowran, at the E end of town which lies c. 5km SW of Duninga townland.
