What is recorded here

Brittas Bridge gives Thomas Fosbery the grand phrase ‘under the superintendence of’ and names Michael Walsh as the contractor. Even in stone, it takes more words to say who watched than who built the thing.

An attractive and well proportioned bridge, built under the superintendence of Thomas Fosbery, Surveyor, forming a landmark feature spanning the River Mulkear. The construction of the bridge is of some technical engineering significance, while the cut limestone voussoirs are indicative of high quality craftsmanship.
