Bridge in Killavally East crosses the Aille on eight flat spans propped on stone brackets, like a bookshelf that got dangerously ambitious. ‘Will it take the weight?’ ‘Sure, put the road on and we’ll see.’
Eight-span road bridge over river, extant 1838[?]. Part creeper- or ivy-covered coursed rubble stone walls centred on triangular cutwaters to piers on shuttered concrete bases with lichen-covered rough hewn rubble stone coping to parapets. Series of eight flat spans with rough hewn lintels on rough hewn corbels. Sited spanning Aille River with unkempt banks to river.
