Bridge in Graiguenamanagh has rough stone walls and one painstakingly tidy arch over the Douske. The mason seems to have worked on the principle of an Irish lad ironing only the bit of shirt visible above his jumper: you paid for a crossing, not a wedding.
Single-arch rubble stone road bridge over river, c.1750. Random rubble stone walls with remains of unpainted roughcast over, and rendered coping to parapet. Single camber arch with tooled cut-stone voussoirs, and rubble stone soffits. Sited spanning Douske River.
An attractive small-scale bridge representing an important element of the mid eighteenth-century civil engineering heritage of Graiguenamanagh.
