What is recorded here

About 275m E of KE045-036----, across a small tributary of the Emlagh river, a similar embanked enclosure was levelled during removal of the adjacent field fences (local information). The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 257. A ring-barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age. Its significance lies in its association with early burial practices and possible links to a wider ritual landscape in the region.
