Barrow

Barrow, ditch barrow

What is recorded here

In pasture. A circular enclosure (diam. c. 8m) defined by a fosse, visible on satellite imagery (© Google Earth, imagery date 20 January 2020), identified and reported by Jean-Charles Caillère. The size of the enclosure and the presence of other barrows in the surrounding area, including a ring-barrow (TS066-203----) c. 350m to the SSW, would suggest that this is a barrow. See attached: TS066-225----_01 Google Earth image (imagery date 20 January 2020) Compiled by: Jean Farrelly Date of upload: 10 January 2022
Ditch barrow, likely dating to the Early Bronze Age. Its significance lies in its visibility on satellite imagery and contribution to understanding early funerary and ritual landscapes in the region.
