What is recorded here

Some 17th century references to Roscommon Camp (Cal. S. P. Ire., 1601-3, 39) suggest that there were earthwork defences, perhaps occupying the high ground later occupied by the military barracks c. 1700 (Bradley and Dunne 1988a, 97). This is a detached U-shaped eight-bay three-storey building.
