What is recorded here
Banada Graveyard occupies the lost site of a monastery founded in 1432, though no visible trace of that older house remains beneath its gravelled paths. The cemetery emerged around 1890 behind a roadside wall and decorative iron gates, creating a pleasing boundary where forgotten monastic shadows may still move through the grass. Celtic crosses rise among low stone plinths, marking lives lived and buried across two centuries while the absent monastery continues to haunt the place in memory rather than stone.
Banada Graveyard is a cemetery in County Sligo, Ireland.
