Gateway, c.1850, comprising pair of cut-stone piers having stringcourses, cut-stone shallow conical capping, iron double gates, random rubble stone flanking boundary wall incorporating stile (with wedge-profiled aperture having cut-stone coping), and vertical coping. One of a pair. Road fronted at entrance to Ballyrafton Wood.

Originally forming one of a pair (second in pair remodelled, post-1946-7; not included in survey) flanking a minor rural road a simple gateway exhibiting good quality stone masonry while retaining attractive iron work makes a pleasing impression at the entrance to a wood probably originally having associations with the nearby Jenkinstown House estate (12401411/KK-14-11).
