Ballyhaunis Railway Station

Detached three-bay double-height goods store, commissioned 1861[?]; extant 1893, with four-bay double-height platform (south) elevation. Decommissioned, 1975. Now disused. Pitched slate roof extending into lean-to slate roofs on timber spandrels on drag edged tooled cut-limestone ogee corbels with roll moulded clay ridge tiles terminating in drag edged rock faced limestone ashlar chimney stack having stringcourse below capping supporting terracotta pot, timber bargeboards to gables on timber purlins, and cast-iron rainwater goods on timber eaves boards on exposed timber rafters retaining cast-iron octagonal or ogee hoppers and downpipes. Part creeper- or ivy-covered tuck pointed snecked rock faced limestone walls with drag edged rock faced cut-limestone flush quoins to corners. Series of three segmental-headed openings with series of four segmental-headed openings to platform (south) elevation, lichen-covered limestone ashlar or yellow brick header bond voussoirs framing timber boarded doors. Set in unkempt grounds shared with Ballyhaunis Railway Station.
