Rath Castle stands ruined in County Mayo, Ireland, its tower house reduced to a shadow where people once lived. The stones still hold the shape of rooms and stairs, waiting for hands to remember the heat of hearths and the noise of feet. What is lost has not disappeared; it has simply stopped answering.
