Freestanding single-bay single-stage over raised base gable-fronted signal box, extant 1893. Now disused. Pitched (gable-fronted) slate roof with clay ridge tiles terminating in red brick Running bond chimney stack having concrete capping supporting terracotta pot, and replacement uPVC rainwater goods on box eaves. Rendered, ruled and lined walls (base) with drag edged tooled cut-limestone quoins to corners; "weather boarded" timber surface finish (cabin). Square-headed "monitor window" (cabin) with timber sills, and timber mullions framing fixed-pane timber fittings. Interior retaining levers. Set on tarmacadam platform in grounds shared with Ballyhaunis.
A signal box contributing positively to the group and setting values of the Ballyhaunis Railway Station complex.
