Single-span rail-over-river bridge, built c. 1880. Cylindrical iron columns, riveted iron panels supporting deck, cylindrical iron railings, depressed plinths. Spanning White River at outskirts of Dunleer town.
This bridge is representative of the contribution of the railway to Ireland's industrial heritage. The increasing confidence of the Victorian's use of iron is evident in this bridge which combines utility with robust design.
