The survival of the stone weir complete with its sluice gates, mill race and machinery make it an interesting contributor to the architectural and industrial history of Moynalty. Though presently in only fair condition some of the machinery appears still to be in working order. The weir forms part of an interesting group with the stone bridge upriver. The weir may have medieval fabric.
