Weir

Weir, fish

What is recorded here

'This site was discovered from an aerial photograph, but it proved impossible to visit the site as this area is now impassable mud flats. This fish weir is located in Tralee Bay near Blennerville, to the south side of the entrance to the Tralee ship canal. From the air this fish trap has a distinctive V-shaped profile.' Compiled by Michael Connolly for the Archaeological Survey of Ireland as part of a survey of the Lee Valley area in 1996-97. Date of upload: 02 May 2012
