Cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, with lion's head surrounding spout. Fluted base and cap, with finial and side handle.
This cast-iron water pump makes a interesting contribution to the streetscape. Artistic detail is employed to enliven this functional object. The deeply fluted casting provides artistic detail and is further enlivened by the lion's head mask.
