Freestanding cast-iron hydrant, erected c.1900, with recent tap addition. Set on rounded base with fluted shaft, short conical spout and fluted cap with decorative acorn finial.
This simple water hydrant displays artistic detailing and is an attractive addition to the Kilcrohane streetscape. Its central location highlights its importance within the community in the past, before the provision of domestic water supplies.
