Cast-iron water pump, erected c.1870, with lion's mask to spout, fluted shaft and cap with finial.
This cast-iron water pump makes a interesting contribution to the streetscape of Athboy. The deeply fluted casting provides artistic detail and this functional object is further enlivened by the lion's head mask.
