According to the Civil Survey (1654-6) in 'Tample Michell' which was under the proprietorship of 'James Tobyn of Killaghy Esqr Irish Papist' there 'stands two mills upon a small brooke' (Simington 1931, vol. 1, 142). The exact location of these watermills within the townland of Templemichael is unknown.
