Triple-arch viaduct, commenced 1847, spanning gorge formed by tributary of Owenboy River. Round-headed arches having ashlar limestone voussoirs and soffits, springing from dressed limestone piers. Dressed limestone spandrels surmounted by tooled limestone stringcourse and dressed limestone parapets with solider limestone and render coping.

A substantial, finely built viaduct which was once an essential part of the Cork, Bandon & South Coast Railway. Its impressive size makes it a dramatic feature in the landscape. Although no longer in use, the structure is a fine example of mid-nineteenth century engineering and a reminder of the extent of the rail network in the past.
