Killavallig holds a lost urn burial because a cinerary vessel appeared in Mr. Bolster's land about forty years before Bowman wrote in 1934, then broke accidentally and vanished from local memory. The exact spot has not survived, but the incident still belongs to the field: someone dug, struck bone-ash or ceramic, and damaged the very thing they had found. That is the ordinary cruelty of discovery, not a mysterious failure.

Bowman (1934, 43) mentions 'cinerary urn found c. 40 years ago in Mr. Bolster's land. It was broken accidentally.' Find not remembered locally; exact location not known.
