Upton House

Late 18th/early 19th century 2-storey house over basement. Probably originally rectangular with 7-bay entrance front (S); central fanlighted doorway with limestone surround and sidelights; basement not visible to front. Three-bay bows added to either side of entrance, which is now obscured by porch. Rear windows set asymetrically at basement and ground floor levels; round-headed stairway window. Gabled projection to rear. Inscribed stone from tower house at Kilbrittain (Vol. 1, 3083) now in grounds. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
