Turasbodan

A holy well known as Turas Boden no longer survives. It was situated beside the Culdaff River. (Ó Muirgheasa No. 103) There are now three steps to the "well" where it had once been. There is a tank built there now. This well dedicated to St. Buadan was once the site of a turas which no longer takes place. Described by Ó Muirgheasa in 1936 as 'At Culdaff there is a Holy Well to St. Buadan. His feast day is locally remembered as 22nd July. He is mentioned in all the martyrologies under this date as Mo Biu, or Biteus, and the glosses state that he was Abbot of Inis Cuscraigh, " in Ferann Duin," adds the Feilire of Aengus, and also that he was " son of Comgall" ' (Ó Muirgheasa 1936, 159). Turasbodan was traditionally associated with Saint Boden, a lesser-known early Irish saint linked to several holy wells in Donegal. The site was likely visited for healing rituals, though specific cures are not recorded.
