Single-arch limestone tunnel and railway line retaining wall, built c.1850, currently disused. Elliptical-headed arches to front (north) and rear (south) elevations, having tooled ashlar limestone surrounds with chamfered edge. Random coursed rubble stone walls to front and rear elevations, battered to front elevation. Barrel vaulted, rendered rubble stone soffit and side walls to interior.

An eye-catching stretch of railway retaining wall with inset vehicular tunnel. The high quality stone work adds much interest to the roadside and is a reminder of the excellent workmanship employed by railway companies in their building campaign throughout the nineteenth century. The tunnel is a particularly curious feature which brings additional interest to the site.
