Tower (in Ruins) is a nineteenth century belvedere on the S side of Sheep's Head peninsula in County Cork, Ireland. Its square chamber measures about 4.6m by 4.55m inside, with 0.75m walls, three storeys, a pointed ground floor door in the N wall, large central windows flanked by narrow ones on the N and W sides, fireplaces in the E wall, and embattled parapet walls. It may have been built for watching the sea, enjoying the view, or marking a estate’s reach. Even in ruins, it still points upward like a hand raised toward the sky.
