Toherpatrick

Marked on the 1839 and 1925 eds of the OS 6-inch map where it is described in gothic lettering as ‘Toberpatrick’, and located towards the bottom of a W-facing slope in a farmyard. It is fed by a stream or field drain from the hill and is now a rectangular area defined by a drystone wall solidified with concrete. It was noted by John O’Donovan writing c. 1840 (O’Flanagan 1933, vol. 2, 50) but even then there was no evidence that it was ever venerated.
