In a dried-up stream in pastureland, formerly part of Ballymore Demesne. Named 'Tobbermurry' on the 1838 and 1946 revision of the OS 6-inch maps. Tobermurry is traditionally associated with Saint Murry (or Murtagh), a 6th-century Irish saint known for his monastic foundations in County Limerick and parts of Tipperary. Holy wells named after him are often linked to cures for skin ailments and general healing, with local folklore suggesting that water from such wells, when used in ritual, could bring about physical and spiritual purification.
