Tobermaclugg or Tobar na gClog is a natural spring situated in a hollow by a tree. Accessible from steps (Ó Danachair 1958, 83). It is dedicated to St. John (Daly 1957, 18). No longer venerated. Tobermaclugg, dedicated to St. John, was once a site of veneration associated with the healing properties of its spring water. The name Tobar na gClog may suggest a tradition involving the removal of shoes or boots as part of a ritual at the well, a common practice at holy wells to symbolize purification or humility.
