Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in RathmorrelFairy fort / earthen ringfort · 321 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Rathmorrel was the subject of such a bad poem that the author quit writing forever. It’s cut by a track now, so it’s basically a sidewalk with opinions. Have a look and decide if I was lying.

Mound in RathmorrelMound · 321 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Mound in Rathmorrel was built on a bargain with a very stubborn farmer. He promised to dig one if she stopped complaining about his tractor, and he never did. Have a chat with it, nobody's watching. It’s 2.4 by 3 metres of pure judgment and dirt.

Enclosure in FeeansEnclosure · 339 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Feeans enclosure used to be on old maps, but now it's basically a rumor with a very loud voice in your head. It makes a spooky creaking sound at night that sounds exactly like an old door settling down. Ideal stop for a big stretch and a bigger yawn.

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in BallynoeFairy fort / earthen ringfort · 659 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballynoe hates the bumpy road that leads to it, calling it 'aggressive.' It vanished from maps, so it’s playing hard to get. Bring a coin for luck and keep it in your pocket.

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in LisduffFairy fort / earthen ringfort · 925 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lisduff would say on its dating profile: 'Mature, earthy, and currently invisible.' It vanished after the 1840s, leaving only a tiny portion behind for us to miss. Pop by and tell it it's looking well.

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballinclemesig (clanmaurice By., Killury Ed)Fairy fort / earthen ringfort · 1111 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballinclemesig has a beef with the nearest tree that blocks its view. They’ve been glaring at each other for centuries over this patch of land. It’s a slow-burning feud over dirt. Ring your granny and tell her where you are.

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in LissycurrigFairy fort / earthen ringfort · 1189 ydComputer-made picture

Explorer Tom Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lissycurrig would teach history if it had to, but it’d only cover napping. It’s been hiding from the cameras because it hates flash photography. Stand on the spot and imagine the gossip it's heard.

Saint Mary's Catholic ChurchChurch/chapel · 2.2 mi

Explorer Tom Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Booleenshare was built where a poet fell into a ditch and wrote a sonnet. The tower looks like it’s trying to escape the building. Go with someone who loves old stuff and watch them melt.

Our Lady's Holy WellSpring · 2.8 mi

Explorer Tom Our Lady's Holy Well has caught my eye in County Kerry. I bet a spring with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.

Catholic Church of the Sacred HeartChurch/chapel · 3.2 mi

Explorer Tom Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart in Kilmoyly South is stuck in a fairy dispute over parking rights. The apse is polygonal because someone couldn't decide on a shape. Look serious, nod slowly, you're basically an expert now.

Maulin MountainMountain / peak · 4.4 mi

Explorer Tom Maulin Mountain has caught my eye in County Kerry. I bet a mountain / peak with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.

Ardfert FriaryVisitor information · 5.9 mi

Explorer Tom Ardfert Friary has caught my eye in County Kerry. I bet a visitor information with a name like that could keep me talking all afternoon; I'm already inventing a daft little scene for it, and I'll stop before it turns into history.
