Toberelleen is a holy well hidden in rough Kilkenny pasture, reduced today to a dry rough hole in the ground. The surveyor in 1839 wrote Tobar Eibhlinne but heard locals call it Tober Eileen, admitting the name did not sound very holy. That contradiction is the point: sanctity does not need to announce itself in a pretty word. People may have knelt at that hole, poured water back, or simply dropped a coin into darkness and left it alone.

According to the OS Letters (1839), 'there is a well called Tobar Eibhlinne said to be holy (though its name does not sound very holy); its name is locally pronounced Tober Eileen' (O'Flanagan 1930, vol. 2, 10 (4)). Linked to Saint Eibhlinne (or Eileen), the well is traditionally associated with healing and fertility. Local folklore suggests that the water was sought for its curative properties, particularly in childbirth and women's ailments.
