At edge of forest with good view of Galtee Mountains to N. Spring enclosed by clochan-type structure; crowned with wooden cross. Still in holy use. Linked to Saint Gobnait, the well is traditionally associated with cures for eye ailments and general healing. The site reflects a long-standing Christian and pre-Christian tradition of sacred springs in Ireland, often marked by stone or clochan enclosures and later Christianised with crosses.
