Templesoorney

On a level terrace to NE of the village of Eochaill, Inis Mór. This poorly preserved E. Chr oratory (E-W; L 4.4m, Wth 3m) is a Nat. Mon., known locally as Teampall Asurnaí. There is a ruined doorway in W wall, a window in E with an altar below, and a projecting corbel at SE corner. The remains of a possible ecclesiastical building (GA110-084006-) lie to W and three cross slabs (GA110-084003-, GA110-084004-, GA110-084005-) to E. There is also the saint's bed (GA110-084002-), placed variously at E gable by OS Letters (O'Flanagan 1927a, Vol. 3, 316, 370), in field to SE by OS 6-inch map, and to NW by Robinson (1980). A holy well (GA110-082001-) and bush to lie c. 115m to NW.
