Detached four-bay two-storey rendered dwelling, built c. 1875. 'T'-plan, three-bay by single-bay north wing, single-storey flat-roofed porch in corner between south and north wings. Hipped slate roof, wood-cored lead ridge and hip cappings, red brick chimneystacks with yellow brick banding and moulded limestone caps, painted timber modillion eaves, moulded cast-iron gutters, rectangular cast-iron downpipes. Painted smooth-rendered ruled-and-lined walling, ashlar limestone quoins, chamfered plinth, parapet with lead-capped limestone cornice and blocking course to porch. Square-headed window openings, roll moulded render surrounds, limestone sills, uPVC casement windows c.1995. Round-headed door opening to east side of porch, moulded render eared surround incorporating keystone with small mosaic-tiled panel over reading 'DOMINUS SPES MEA', painted timber frame, plain-glazed fanlight, hardwood four-panel door c.2000, tooled limestone steps. Macadamed parking area and lawns to east, enclosed yard to south with ashlar limestone gate pillars, hardwood vertically-sheeted double gates c. 2000, two-storey hipped-roof rendered outbuilding to south side of yard, approached by gravelled driveway from Temple Street to the north, modest wrought-iron gates on dressed limestone pillars at entrance.

This attractive group is closely related to other catholic buildings in the area including the convent and cathedral. With the exception of the windows and entrance door, it retains its original appearance intact and boasts a particularly good eaves detail. The outbuildings and yard are an essential component of the composition and also retain some good detailing.
