Structure

A deposit (L 0.98m; Wth 0.41m; D 0.27m) of mixed brushwood, one roundwood and a plank. The elements are closely packed, irregularly laid and up to two pieces deep. Some of the brushwood is parallel. The plank (L 0.36m max.; Wth 0.09m; D 0.06m), is a half-split and has toolmarks at each end. Preservation of the wood is poor and some of the pieces have been disturbed by machinery. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
