Structure

A very dispersed deposit (Wth 2.56m; D 0.23m) of irregularly laid light brushwood and two stakes. The stakes are set at 80-90°, almost side by side at the centre of the deposit. A single degraded chisel point is evident. The site lies in moderately humified Sphagnum peat with a large amount of Calluna, some Eriophorum and fibrous roots. SMR OF010-269---- and SMR OF010-271---- are 3.5m and 1.7m to the SW, respectively. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
