Structure

Two pieces of light brushwood and one roundwood (Wth 0.87m; D 0.1m) which are irregularly laid and widely spaced, although two of the elements appear to be parallel. The roundwood is cut to a chisel point, has a number of toolmarks along its length and has branch-trimming. The site lies in well-humified Sphagnum peat with fibrous roots and occasional Eriophorum. SMR OF010-252----, 1.7m to the SW, is at the same level. SMR OF010-251---- is 4.5m to the SW and SMR OF010-254---- is 4.3m to the NE. Recorded by the Irish Archaeological Wetland Unit (University College, Dublin) in 2001. The evidence is not sufficient to warrant its acceptance as the remains of an archaeological monument.
