What is recorded here

On a SW-facing slope in pasture, within a graveyard (LF005-010001-). Possibly an early monastery associated with St Modan (Gwynn and Hadcock 1970, 394), whose feast day is held on the 6th of March (McNamee 1942a, 24). A structure described as the 'remains of the ancient Cell are of the slightest, but are just traceable, and seem to indicate the presence of one of those circular or bee-hive buildings' was recorded by McNamee (ibid., 25). No visible surface trace survives. Compiled by: Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 5 June 2013
