Two stone heads that had adorned St John’s holy Well (ME037-028001-) area still preserved at the location, set into the ground. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Meath' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1987). Probably dating to the early Christian or medieval period, these stone heads may have originally served a ritual or commemorative function associated with the holy well. Such carvings are sometimes linked to local saints, territorial markers, or protective folklore.
