Stone Circles — Report the wrong picture

Marked only on the 1940 ed. of the OS 6-inch map and located and located in woodland established before 1839 (OS map) on a steep N-facing slope down from the site of Greenmount House and overlooking the NE-SW River Slaney, which is c. 280m to the NW. It is on a terrace just on the S side of the more northerly of two E-W forest lanes towards its E end. This is a subcircular enclosure (int. diam. 12.6m E-W; 11m N-S) defined by a line of boulders (dims. c. 0.5m x 0.5m; H c. 0.6m). There is an entrance at NW (Wth 3.4m) and SE (Wth 2.7m). The standing stone (WX020-023001-) is c. 40m to the E, and it is one of at least six similar enclosures that may be part of an ornamental landscape.
