What is recorded here

Flight of steps, built c. 1860, with limestone risers, now partly concreted. Remains of cast-iron base set in cement to upper steps.
These steps form part of an interesting group with similar nineteenth-century paving schemes. Steps such as these are found in many location throughout the city, and contribute to its unique character. The paving schemes utilised cut limestone, which in many cases has been replaced or covered with concrete. These steps retain some limestone risers.
