Gallanes holds a rectangular standing stone near Clonakilty, displaced fifty metres south when waterworks cut through the old pasture. It still stands beside the new pipes, marking the place where human hands moved a stone older than the pipes themselves.

In pasture overlooking Clonakilty to S. Rectangular stone (H 1.95m; 1.85m; 0.5m). Stone removed c. 50m to S when waterworks were built here c. 15 years ago. Likely dating to the Neolithic or Bronze Age, this standing stone may have originally functioned as part of a ritual or funerary landscape. Its relocation suggests disruption of its original context, though local folklore sometimes associates such stones with protective or territorial significance.
