Standing stone

In rough grazing, on the summit of a ridge at the W end of the Derrynasaggart Mountains. Two stones, orientated NW-SE, stand c. 1.3m apart and 4m to the E of the perimeter fence around a mobile phone mast. The NW stone (H 1.35m; 0.65m x 0.2m) is subrectangular in elevation and has a semicircular notch cut into its northern edge c. 0.45m above ground level. The SE stone (H 1.2m; 0.8m x 0.18m) is also subrectangular in elevation but has a more pointed top. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
